Project Overview
Varali is a Kerala-based ethnic-wear brand selling dhotis, sarees, kurtas, and accessories across separate Men's and Women's collections, with the Women's collection running to 30+ products and seasonal campaigns tied to festivals like Onam.
This engagement was a conversion and usability audit of the existing Shopify store, not a ground-up build — the focus was reviewing the shopping journey across the homepage, collection, and product pages, and surfacing practical opportunities to reduce friction and support purchase decisions on higher-consideration items like sarees.
Storefront details and any catalog counts reflect materials reviewed in August 2026.
Storefront Features
CRO Audit
Reviewed the storefront end-to-end for conversion friction and usability issues, from festival-campaign landing pages through to purchase intent.
Product Page Review
Evaluated product information, imagery, and trust elements on saree and dhoti product pages against what shoppers need to decide on a higher-consideration purchase.
Collection & Navigation Review
Assessed how easily shoppers could filter and narrow the Men's and Women's collections by size, price, and availability.
Mobile UX
Reviewed how the seasonal campaign banners and product browsing experience performed on smaller screens.
Conversion Recommendations
Prepared practical recommendations for improving clarity, trust, and ease of purchase across the customer journey.
Project Goals
Identify where shoppers might lose confidence or hit friction while browsing a size-varied catalog of traditional wear across men's and women's lines, and while moving through seasonal festival campaigns, ahead of any further design or development investment.
The Approach
Customer journey review
Walked through the path from festival-campaign landing pages to product discovery to purchase intent, on both desktop and mobile.
Homepage, collection & PDP inspection
Inspected the homepage campaign banners, Men's/Women's collection filtering, and saree/dhoti product pages for clarity and usability.
Friction identification
Flagged specific points where product information, trust signals, or navigation could be creating hesitation for shoppers.
Prioritized recommendations
Compiled findings into a prioritized set of practical improvement opportunities for the brand.
